Spanaway Lake High School

The project consists of two building additions, one attached to the main structure including new kitchen and commons and one classroom addition replacing the green houses as a stand alone structure. The western approximately two thirds of the existing parking and driving areas on the site were extensively redesigned for improved parking, circulation and student drop off. A new access at the eastern edge of the property was created while the centrally located existing site access was revised. Sitts & Hill also provided a topographic survey to be used for design purposes. Site drainage associated with the proposed improvements was handled on-site via separate water quality and quantity control facilities for the additional impervious surfaces. Water quality facilities were installed to support the asphalt surfaces that were reconfigured/reconstructed on the western two thirds of the site. The scope of our work included design, plan and specification preparation and construction observation. We coordinated with the Architect as the building and site improvements were defined. We also prepared construction cost estimates, plans and specifications during the Schematic Design, Design Development and the Construction Document phases of this project.
