Curtis High School Gym and Aquatic Center

Sitts & Hill prepared plans and specifications for two buildings located adjacent to one another at the Curtis High School Campus. Small portions of the existing buildings were retained and upgraded while the major portion of each building was demolished and replaced with new construction. Rerouting of underground utilities through narrow areas between existing buildings required extensive coordination to prevent system shutdowns impacting other facilities during the school year. Each building was designed and constructed independently over a period of 3 years requiring advanced coordination of project utilities and site improvements. Gymnasium construction was completed in March of 2010 and the Aquatic Center construction wad completed in November of 2011.
