Reider Medical Office - Puyallup, Washington
Sitts & Hill Engineers, Inc. provided structural engineering and construction support services for the new 3 story masonry office building.
Four different structural materials were incorporated into the design of the building, wood, masonry, concrete and steel.
The wood truss roof structure is supported by steel beams and posts on the interior. Masonry walls are constructed on the exterior and are weight bearing. The individual floors consist of concrete slabs over metal decks with steel joists. Large concrete beams support the exterior walls over the front garage entrances.
Key design features include a unique cantilever steel stair system and sloped glass walls at the lobby/stairwell.
