Point Ruston, Commercial Buildings & Shopping Centers- Ruston, Washington
Sitts & Hill Engineers, Inc was contracted to provide the survey and structural design for the mixed-use multi-storied office, and apartment buildings for the water-front redevelopment complex located in Point Ruston. The scope of work included the preparation of structural documents (based on the Architects layout) ready for building permit submittal and contractual bidding. The package consisted of foundation and framing plans, appropriate details and general structural notes and calculations required for the submittal, as well as the completion of City forms associated with the submittal.
Structural systems included post-tensioned concrete, concrete topping over metal deck, light framed construction, and steel brace frames. The project is a redevelopment of an industrial brown site. This requires additional innovation and close coordination of the design team with the construction personnel and permitting agencies to assure unexpected contamination continues to stay contained. Sitts & Hill Engineers, Inc is currently working on phase III.
