Pierce County Skills Center - Puyallup, Washington

Sitts & Hill Engineers was contracted by Bethel School District to provide surveying services in support of the acquisition, design and development of the future Pierce County Skills Center facility in Spanaway, Washington.  Sitts & Hill utilized in-house GIS capabilities to identify and evaluate sites that met the criteria provided by the district.  Bethel School District selected a site, and immediately enlisted the assistance of Sitts & Hill to provide surveying and engineering services related to the development of the site.  The 10.5 acre site included an existing 38,000 square foot structure and site improvements that would be modified and repurposed to suit the vision of the District.

Our surveying services included the following:

  • ALTA / ACSM Land Title Survey prior to closing
  • Boundary Survey of multiple contiguous parcels that constitute the site
  • Topographic Mapping of entire site
  • Underground utility research and mapping
  • Short Plat Alterations were performed to remove conditions of 1980's short plats that restricted optimal development of the site
  • Boundary Line Agreement per RCW 58.04.007 to resolve uncertainty over the east boundary of the site
  • Legal description and exhibit preparation for easement and conveyance documents

"Bethel School District has utilized Sitts & Hill Engineers services over the last five years and we have found them to be exceptional listeners to the district and the design team and have helped make our projects very successful with a very low change order rate.   Sitts & Hill is our go to civil and surveying firm on projects that are complex and difficult." Jim Hansen, Director of Construction and Planning, Bethel School District
