Hurley Engineering Office - Tacoma, Washington
Sitts & Hill Engineers, Inc. was the lead design professional for the Hurley Engineering project. This was an existing facility that suffered a fire which consumed nearly 50% of the structure. We conducted a “Facility Condition Assessment†of the fire damaged building and determined that the remaining structure could not be rebuilt.
We then prepared the replacement package for the new Office and Fab Shop which included the design package for the civil site plan and the structural framing plans.
The civil site package consisted of: demolition and erosion control plans, the grading and drainage plans and profile, the surfacing plan and details, the sewer and storm plans and details, the underground plumbing plan, the supply water plan, and off-site sidewalk and street surfacing plans and details, street tree layout with planting and grate details. In addition to the engineering design, Sitts & Hill prepared the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, the Site Stormwater Report, the Offsite Stormwater Report, and the Operations and Maintenance Manual.
The design/bid structural package consisted of: foundation plans; the 1st and 2nd floor framing plans and details; ceiling plans; roof framing plan and details; door, window, lighting and hardware schedules; interior and exterior elevations; and the design/bid specifications for mechanical and electrical.
